What is the Hammam Al Ándalus in Madrid?

The Hammam Al Ándalus in Madrid is an urban oasis right in the heart of Madrid. We have resurrected all the magic of the Al Ándalus period with an authentic recreation of the senses with our Arab Baths. Leave behind all the daily stress and burnout once you step through our doors.

What is the origin of Hammam Al Ándalus in Madrid?

The Hammam Al Ándalus Madrid is located inside a cistern structure going back hundreds of years. 'Medina Mayrit '(The City of Madrid) is the name used for the Al Ándalus enclave belonging to the Kingdom of Toledo and that served as a meeting point for different cultures. This small enclave occupied the area adjacent to the Almudaina (today the Almudena Cathedral) and was surrounded by walls with a small extension reaching Plaza Jacinto Benavente, where the Hammam Al Ándalus Madrid stands today and where the ancient Arab baths may have been located.

How does the circuit work and how long does it take?

You can decide how long you spend at each point of the circuit inside the Hammam which lasts for 1 hour and 30 minutes, including the time of the massage if this is booked. The Hammam has three water rooms: a warm room at 36 °, a hot room at 40 º and a cold room at 18 º. You can also enjoy the steam room and the rest room where you can continue relaxing while savouring the tastes of a traditional Arabic drink produced from a smooth and aromatic blend of green tea with mint.
